There are several types of maintenance of generators (EO, TO-0, TO-1, TO-2, SO):
of the project, the implementation of preparatory work and the equipment of the place where the equipment will be installed. When the preliminary activities are completed, start-up activities can be carried out, including a set of maintenance activities for the generator. In the process, the readiness for operation of systems, mechanisms and structural components is checked. The correct connection of measuring instruments, sensors and electrical cables also plays an important role. When the check is completed, the fuel tank at the DPP (DGU) is filled with diesel and the unit is checked at idle. At the end, the indicators on the sensors are read, the settings are adjusted and the operation of the power plant is optimized.
Daily maintenance for ordinary stations is carried out once every 24 hours, and for backup stations - before the start of each use. Daily maintenance is one of the most important factors that keeps a diesel generator running smoothly. The set of actions consists of: visual inspection of the external elements of the installation, checking the oil filling rate and pressure, checking the reliability of the connecting parts and the degree of wear of the mechanisms in motion. For units that are cooled by water, the water level must be additionally checked. If the device is used regularly and intensively, maintenance must be carried out every day. This is especially true for installations that are used at extremely low or high temperatures.
Regular maintenance is carried out according to a planned schedule. During the work, the conditions in which the generator is operated must be taken into account. The frequency of maintenance depends on the type and model of the installation, but they should include: test run and preventive maintenance related to electrical elements (starter, insulated cables, batteries, distributor shields), testing the performance of mechanisms (bolt connections, drive belts, fans) and refinement of indicators during the operation of the power plant. Additionally, the parameters are adjusted and adjusted.
Maintenance (TO), carried out based on the operating hours. A scheduled check of the serviceability of the apparatus is carried out for each unit of DES or GPU. This is especially necessary for devices that are used on a regular basis. The frequency and list of works during TO-1, TO-2, etc. differs, based on the operating conditions and the type of generator. The first maintenance (TO) is performed at the end of the break-in period after the first 50 hours of engine operation. It is mandatory to check the cleanliness and serviceability of the filter, the regulation of mechanisms. The following maintenance procedures (TO) are carried out:
- (EO) Daily maintenance once a day at the end of the daily work;
- (TO-0) Maintenance at the end of the period break-in after the first 50 hours of engine operation;
- (TO-1) First maintenance every 250 hours of engine operation;
- (TO-2) Second maintenance every 500 hours of operation engine;
- (CO) Seasonal maintenance twice a year during the transition from summer to winter operation and from winter to summer operation;
Maintenance schedule (TO) diesel -generators and gas piston power plants:
Maintenance (TO).
General instructions. In order to ensure the normal operation of the generating set, maintenance is required. Maintenance works are preventive, so they must be carried out in full and on time during the entire period of operation.
Maintenance of the engine, generator, control panel and batteries should be carried out according to the instructions for their operation using a set of spare parts and accessories simultaneously with the next maintenance of the electric unit. It is forbidden to operate the generating set without regular maintenance, as well as reducing the scope of maintenance work.
Types and frequency of maintenance. The following types of maintenance are provided for the generating set:
- daily maintenance (EO), performed at the end of the shift;
- break-in - maintenance (TO-0) at the end of the break-in period after the first 50 hours of engine operation;
- first maintenance ( TO-1), carried out every 250 hours of work;
- second maintenance (TO-2), carried out every 500 hours of work;
- seasonal maintenance (SO), carried out twice a year when changing from summer to winter operation and from winter to summer operation.
During the daily maintenance of the EO, proceed as follows:
- remove dust, dirt, smudges of fuel, grease and coolant;
- check the amount of oil, fuel and coolant and, if necessary, the dose edit;
- check that there are no leaks of fuel, oil and coolant;
- carry out a control inspection of instruments, assemblies and mechanisms.
- check the fastening of all components of the electric unit and carry out tightening;
- check the reliability of the contact connections;
- check the reliability of the grounding of the generating set;
- check the availability of fire-fighting equipment and their serviceability;
- drain the sediment from the fuel tank.
During maintenance of TO-1, do the following:
- check the fastening of the electric unit to the base (foundation);
- check the fastening of the control panel, circuit breaker and radiators;
- check the condition of the radiator and, if necessary, remove it and wash it with hot soapy water, then with clean water, removing dirt;
- clean batteries from dust and dirt;
- check the reliability of the grounding of the generating set;
- check the insulation resistance;
- change the oil and filter;
- recording battery data in the battery;
- testing the health of the charger for the generator;
- testing the condition of the air filter;
- elimination of condensate;
- monitoring the degree of wear of the alternator belt and its adjustment;
- checking the level of liquid for cooling. If necessary, adding it;
- adjusting valve clearances;
- testing the parameters of power plants in different operating modes.
During maintenance of TO-2, perform the following :
- carry out work according to TO-1;
- wash the fuel tank with fuel;
- check the condition of the paint and varnish coatings and restore if necessary;< /li>
- measure the resistance of the grounding device;
- checking and tightening the connections;
- which are held on by bolts;
- cleaning the radiator fins from dust and other contaminants ;
- replacement of filters for air and fuel liquid;
- control of the integrity of the base of power plants;
- regulation of valve clearances;
- cleaning and disinfection of ventilation ;
- setting speed parameters;
- checking and adjusting electrical contacts;
- inspection of the regulator that controls the voltage in the system;
- testing correctness remote control operation (automation system), with which the station is controlled.
To carry out seasonal maintenance of CO, do the following:
- perform all the work provided for by TO-2;< /li>
- flush the lubrication system;
- flush the cooling system;
- inspect the condition of the protective coatings;
- check the insulation resistance;
- check the safety and alarm circuit.

Once a month, it is recommended to test the equipment with a minimum load of 35% of the generator's maximum power. The duration of the check is on average 45 minutes.
If the device is idle for a long time, so that it does not fail, it is necessary to turn on the generator at least once a month and operate it at idle for 15 minutes. During each maintenance, it is allowed to use consumables that are approved by the manufacturer of the unit.
Do not neglect the recommendations of manufacturers on the frequency and completeness of the work included in the maintenance, as they regularly conduct experiments to identify limit indicators, the duration of performance and the resistance of the device to external influences. Failure to carry out maintenance in a timely manner can lead to malfunctions. The longer they remain unnoticed, the greater the likelihood of a complete failure of the installation without the possibility of repairing the diesel power plant.
Based on the type of generator set, the regulations defined by the manufacturer and the wishes of the customer, other technical actions may be carried out. These operations include maintenance of uninterruptible power supplies of the UPS.
